looking for a special part in rear upper hatch

so I had a small fire in the drivers (left) side rear hatch lower corner. it was started by a + and - wire rubbing together over years and finally they made contact and as the cave man discovered with rocks, I had a fire in the hatch.
did minimal damage. I just needed to buy 2 tan trim pieces (thanks e-bay) and I need to source these other 2 parts.
one is called a Suppression filter and it kinda actas as a middle man to something (no idea what this actually does) but its a small black box which has one molded wire come from it and lead somewhere else, and it also accepts a connector/wire from a wire harness.
the e53 (and e39) actually have two of these suppression filters. one in each corner of the upper hatch, in the bottom corner (when glass hatch is in down position)
SO I can buy this suppression filter at the stealership for $35 BUT they can not sell me the connector as every attempt to try to track it down has failed.
so I have been calling wreckers, local want ad websites and even this forum. I'm usually able to see many X5's parting out but in this case, only 2 ppl have gotten back to me about this (thanks guys) and neither is really an option for me to procure 1 wire with black connector and one black box.
does anyone else know anyone parting a e53 out?
here are the pics of the burnt suppression filter and a pic of the non suppression filter.
(PS: the suppression filter in the left corner has a brown wire and black connector connecting to black box, yet the passenger side black box has a black with and black connector from the wire harness connecting to it (not sure why the wire color difference).
I'm open to either wire as thats all I really need since I could buy the box new locally ( 3 week wait time from Germany).

dang, no one knows anyone parting out an x5 local to them? nuts
maybe this part is not even necessary. I have no idea what the suppression filter even does for the radio system

old school answer on what suppression filter does for radio: in shorts it is a noise filter. Typically built to stop noise from passing into an isolated circuit. Ever been in a car where you can hear the alternator whine when the music pauses, often from a poorly suppressed amp etc. I have no idea exactly what the filter is for in the X here and the hatch seems to be a weird spot for one.

Did you know you were on fire, smell it? I do also wonder if the spot you had melt down is the common spot where the ground wire goes bad for the license plate lights.

There are a few parting out Xs in the classified forms that I bet would have one for you.

does it look like part #8 in diagram?

JC, yes it is part #7 actually (part #8 is just the screw) and I've checked the classifieds and only two people were kind enough to respond to their thread or a PM sent directly.
I can buy that part #8 for just $35 in Calgary, but its the wire and connector that p;lug into the suppression filter that the local BMW can not figure out what it is, even though I have given them the part # from the plug/wire on the OTHER side of the hatch from the good suppression filter.
its really that wire I need.

so I did not have a bad lic plate light ground, in fact It was the positive wire from the lic plate wire that rubbed over years with this bigger brown (ground) wire that goes to this suppression filter that actually made contact through their sheaths to cause a spark and inferno.
yeah i thought it was a car ahead of me on fire to be honest as I said to my wife to be that the vehicle had seen better days (as we were driving up a giant hill) but as I happened to look at my rearview mirror, I seen thick brown smoke billowing up so I pulled over and as I opened my hatch, there were flames pretty big, so I had to throw snow on my flames.
that was the ONLY time in my life I was happy to see snow.

DAMN< thank you JC for telling me to check ebay by using the part number and not a generic name for the part. worked perfect.
I just bought two boxes and will cut a wire off one of them to solder into the vehicle's harness to complete the circuit again.
