Self leveling suspension inactive..

Ive had this since I bought the car, the suspension was never an issue, the compressor works, the shocks hold air, and the car always sits correctly...

I bought a compressor rebuild kit (figure I might as well change the seal)... I want to scan the system for codes before I replace any sensors or controllers...

I have a snap on solus unit, but it doesn't read the suspension..

Does anyone know for certain what BMW uses to scan the suspension for faults, the car is a 2001 e53 ...

It has the round connector under the hood.... I dont want to buy a scan software that in the end can not scan and diagnose the issue for certain...

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

INPA and DIS are my (and most owners) weapon of choice, as well as the dealer's choice back then. Now they have newer software.

Make sure you got the adapter for the cable. All 2001 use the connection in the engine bay for coding.

I ordered one yesterday, does it have to have a special break out cable like vag com for audi or will a generic Usb to 16 pin, then a 16 pin to 20 pin do?

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
You need the round adapter from the seller, he sells the round adapter cable with the software package if you need it.

You might need to solder two leads together on that adapter. Some of them do however come pre-modded.
