Angry Battery drain after changing radio

Hi

I have upgraded the radio with AVIN2 (Android) based. Eversince I am facing battery Drain issue..

if I drive vehicle to my work place that is 60 miles (2 way) battery stays up and runs fine.

But if my spouse drives to her work i.e. 20 miles (2 way) and then with in 2 days battery drains..

So, after calling AAA person coulpel of times, I went and purchase car battery charger. Here is the interesting thing, I charge to 100% and let it sleep(around 9 to 10 hours) overnight, Morning I check the battery strenght and it came down to 52%. If battery strenght goes down to below 40-30% then i can not start the car...

well, In addition to this I am also hearing small electric/electronic click sounds from CARGO area (from left side when I sit in driving seat) or from stero ( I am not sure)

What I did so far:
1) Initially the person who was installed left old GPS DVD connected and not taken away. So, I have took off that one also .. but still no luck, electoric click sound streanth went down but I can still here if i do not play radio or songs...

2) I left iPhone charger cord to the USB, and I took it out aswell

3) also verified vehicle going sleep after 16 minutes

4) I took out 73 and 75 fuse which are belongs to radio and GPS but no luck ;(

If you're hearing clicking sounds from the speakers that almost sounds like the AMP might not be turning off.

Thanks for the input...

Just wants to confirm i have noticed that sound when Im driving, but did not observe when stop. Still you say AMP is the culprit...

This device has WIFI and Bluetooth on so I have turn those off.. lets how that will be tomorrow morning.. anyway today I drove around 60 miles .. so it should not be a problem but wants to measure the battery strength before starts up the car..

Perhaps the draw from the new radio is what is killing your battery.

Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

If you have factory GPS then you have DSP. I thought AVIN doesn't support DSP? Unless you did a DSP workaround. If so, maybe you have the DSP amp power trigger crossed from ignition power and constant power?

This is completely false. You can have factory navigation WITHOUT DSP. My car is proof of this. I have the AVIN 1 and never had battery issues.

OK, I stand corrected then.

Did you use the same installer as the OP? Since the OP brought it into a shop to have the work done, we don't know if they used an adapter to connect with the factory harness, or if they butcher the factory harness installing the unit. Worse case is that they don't have an ideal as to the electronic system in a BMW and they only know to look for positive and ground, key on key off.

To the original poster, you mentioned that the X goes to sleep mode after 16 minutes, how did you determine this? Any large type of current draw that can deplete a charge battery over night will not allow the X to go into sleep mode. The DME will notice the current draw and not put the X in sleep mode.

OP Original Poster

PO Previous Owner

Giving it to a guy in an audio shop still doesn't qualify if he knows what he is doing. I would not want a nurse to perform open heart surgery on me even though she works at a hospital.

The entertainment system in the X is a lot more complicated then an entertainment system in a FORD. The system is integrated with the X electronic system through the CAN Bus. Do you know if you have DSP? Most aftermarket system can not be integrated into a BMW X with DSP. Only one that I am aware of is the Dynavin.
