watch out for incorrect X5 5HP24 transmission filters
Ignore this part: Just to give everyone a heads up - I ordered and received a new transmission filter for a 5HP24 ... I think the filter inside the bag is incorrect ...

The oval hole is the fluid intake, not where the filter attaches to the valve block (which is the circular hole on the other side of the filter). All 5HP24 filters are the same – though the 5HP24A Audi Quattro versions are slightly different. There are a lot of cheap Taiwanese pattern part out there so only use genuine Filtran units.

Oh man. I hadn't opened the package as I thought I would have to return it. The other side has the round port as it should. Got to take it easier on the brake cleaner....
