Crankcase breather fitting

Hi, I received my upgrade vortex type breather for my 2003 x5, I watched a video on YouTube about fitting it and the Australian mechanic says that ( he lubes the o ring and then pushes the breather part onto the housing and you will hear it snap into place) the one iv got doesn't snap into place it just pushes on and I'm slightly concerned that it will not take a lot for it too come off once fitted, any advice on this will be very welcome.
