Need help with removing center console.

Hey guys , I'm sure there is some info out there in the search forum but nothing came up for me.

I'm wrapping my interior trims and now I have the console , ashtray cover and the rear cup holder cover to take out....i was wondering how to do that before I break something. Been at it for 30 min and loosing patience.

Thanks for the help

Great thanks ,, just as you posted , I had found it

Also was considering to plasti dip the console matte black rather than wrapping them carbon like I did my trims . I see you had problems with dipping the console??? Your thoughts.

Oh and how the heck do you do the shifter?

no not dipping. For plasti-dip just remeber 70 F temp (room Temp) and many coats.... i did it at cold temp first time and it came out splattering. the console is hard to do in one piece because of all the different curves. maybe if its out it would be easier. I tried pulling my console out one night.... after about 1 hour of unscrewing and messing around i still couldnt pull it out. something inside was holding it in. good luck. its very hard to do it the first time. and if you dip it..than just from touching it all the time you will see it peeling.

Thanks for the heads up!

I think i might take my chances with dip. I wasn't totally sold on the full carbon look. So i might try matte black on the console and see how it holds. Won't remove the console just yet.

Anyone else dipped their console.

Im about ready to wrap with trim with brushed silver and removing this trim looks like a head ache. Thinking I might just wrap it while is still attached. I have been doing vehicle wraps professional for 7 years.

If you want to do it properly you will remove the center console and take the trim piece off and tuck the corners. It won't hold up if you don't.

Don't take shortcuts with something so visible, it took me 2 hours removal, install of new trim, and reinstall, and I was extremely taking my time.

It's not as hard as it looks and I guarantee I'd have it done in half the time if I could do it again

I second taking out the console. It takes some time, but is not hard by any means. Taking out the trims is the only way to wrap them... period. Wife and I did full carbon and it looks amazing (in our opinion). Wrapping with them in place would look horrible, not to mention it will peel with the slightest abrasion at the edges, if not just peel on its own.
