Rear Wiper

Hello all. After a 3 Series and then a 5 Series I just picked up a 2002 X-5. Really love it but have one annoyance. The rear wiper blade does not make contact with the window. It starts out okay but misses the top 2/3rds of the window. Put a new blade on but no help.

Any ideas?

Mike

No, it appears to be fine. I tried to adjust the arm with the bolt but nothing seemed to help. My thought was to try and gently "bend" the arm?

I'm having the exact same issue, I have an appointment next Monday for oil/service and plan to bring this up to them then. If you're still having the issue next week shoot me a PM and I'll let you know how the stealer fixed the problem.

Install an 18" Bosh Icon wiper blade and you will be fine

If you have the plastic rear wiper arm, then the plastic is warped. Now, BMW does not make that plastic wiper arm anymore, you would need to get the metal wiper arm and a new wiper blade (because the plastic one connects differently than the metal one).

I would recommend getting a new metal arm and add the Bosch ICONS 418A or 418B or Valeo Ultimate wiper 18" size at Tirerack.com

I agree Kewl, I think it's time for an article about Bosch Icons etc... Lot's of info out there, but not in one place. If I write it up, I get FULL credit. Do you want to write it up since you were the first person to post the rear wiper arm upgrade??? If you don't, I will!!!!!!!!!!!
