Fresh Air Grill Parts

The small black plastic lever (with the silver inlay) broke on my RH fresh air grill in the dash. P/N 64229227768 is the entire assembly with is in the $40 range - seems overkill since I just need a small plastic part. It usually just snaps on, but the corner chipped off and it now won't stay in place. It's a bit tricky putting them back together, but I have done it before on the rear air vents.

Any idea who might just spare the diverter lever piece?

Even at $40.00, it's pretty reasonably priced given the complexity of the part, and that it's a BMW part we're talking about here. Keep in mind that you need to gently pry off the silver trim to get at the screw holding the vent in place.

A salvage yard would be your only option. BMW doesn't just sell the part you are looking for. So unless you get their supplier to sell it to you, you are not going to find it. The supplier won't sell it to you as it is not worth the hassle for virtually no money. Spend the $40.
