From what I saw, it was mainly for the Mini. With the warranty and the maintenance covering the same distance and years on BMW's, you are either covered or you are not. So why not let the dealer do the maintenance since it is free. If one wants oil changes more frequently, have an indie do them (or do them yourself). Albeit starting in 2014, the maintenance on 2014 and later BMW's is not transferable.

Good for the FTC. I agree BMW was wrong.
Much of the nonsense with BMWs recommendations for oil use and changes were driven by lawyers and their desire to play cute with Magnussen Moss Why would someone not use a BMW dealer 1. Dont trust them to not strip the drain plug 2. Too far away, some owners may life 100+ miles from a dealer. 3. Waste of time. Why go to a dealer when you can do it in 20 minutes? |
