Anyone using a ScanGauge II in their 35d?
One indication that does not seem to function and I would really like is turbo boost. I tried the built in monitor and one of the X-gauge commands from a VW TDI forum that apparently worked for CANSF protocol vehicles and still nothing. I know that the ScanGauge is probably not a tool that most use but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has had any luck with the boost indication. If anyone knows what I am talking about, my ScanGauge is in Diesel-a mode and set to display BST vice MAP and this is a new ScanGauge.

Subscribing. Among other things, I would like to monitor my transmission temps when towing our travel trailer. I have read that other vehicle owners have some difficulty in getting the ScanGauge to read T Temps.

Transmission fluid temperature doesn't appear as one of the built in gauges of the ScanGauge but it is available as an X-gauge and I'm using it, among quite a few others, in my Tahoe just fine. The information I can see in the Tahoe is amazing.
As with the M5 using ISO protocols, the CANSF protocol that the X5 uses seems difficult to crack but I know the information is present because BMWhat can read tons of information. If it's accessible to the ScanGauge or not, I don't know. The ScanGauge can display four gauges at any one time. I really would like coolant temperature, battery voltage, boost and transmission fluid temperature. Coolant temperature and battery voltage are already there. Just need the other two.

josiahg52,
Thanks for the info. I plan to pick up my SGII next week. Let me know if you get the X-gauge programmed to detect transmission fluid temp in either of your BMW's. I may ping you for some guidance if I have any issues programming X-gauges. -CAD

I will. So far I've tried the X-gauge commands for A/F ratio and catalyst temperature with no success. The ambient pressure command did and so far it reads 14.3 psi. I haven't compared it to actual ambient pressure.
I have an email in to Linear Logic. Just have to wait and see if they say anything useful. I'm also going to keep searching the Internet.
