Mild Static/Popping Sound from Speakers (I have searched)
I have dreaded static and popping Sound from speakers. I have searched and have read many issues and opinions, all seem to differ from mine. Mine seems quite minor compared to the youtube movies posted. Car: Feb 2010 e70 X35d - (Australian car if it even matters). I believe it has premium sound. I am getting faint static and very mild popping through the speaks on the following: AUX (nothing plugged in, just Idrive switched to this) USB slot - Playing music TV on Using the phone/Bluetooth through the speaker .......... I AM NOT getting any static, popping or disruption through the speakers with the radio on. .......... From my searching it seems the amp tends to be the issue in these cars, however it seems this issue is with everything, where as my radio is crystal clear. I did have some water in the car (minor) from a blocked sunroof drain but this was back in Dec/Jan. The static problem has only started 3 weeks ago. Drains were cleared at the start of the year, car is current dry - It also hasn't been near water for months. BMW cannot fault (of course), independent shop cannot fault. fittings, clips, wires and earth's checked. Could water damage taken this long? Bite the bullet and buy a new amp? Any thoughts would be great! |

If I had a block diagram I would say it isnt the radio module, and is either the input to the amp from another block that included the other inputs...or there is some other module that is common to those inputs.
There is a subforum here that will be more focussed on BMW electronics... or I suspect someone may have a better idea in the next day or so. Welcome too!
