Which is better?

So this morning I was filling up at the NEX and what pulls up next to me....a Platinum Bronze X5. We both were eying each other, I smiled Said "Good Morning" and went back to pumping my gas. His friend got out and said "Hey thats just like yours!" the owners said "Nah, Mines is better." What? Better? What?

Of course I just let out a little chuckle loud enough for him to hear and go on pumping my gas. At first, second and third glance he had a flat out base model.

Purple tinted windows, No Navi, No PDC, No HUD, No Pano Roof, No Rear Entertainment (If thats a plus or not), No Rear Climate, Godawful Chrome Wheels with rubber band tires, Chrome door edge guard on EVERY SEAM, and those lovely plastic stick on fender vents. It had 30 day tags from a buy here pay here lot. Yeah Dude, Better.

Where he had me was LED angel eyes and a V8 engine. My guess is that it was a 2007 ragged out V8 X5 with a massive oil leak and an AC compressor that sounded like it was on its way out.

I'm not looking for an ego boost or any sort of acknowledgement but why in the hell would someone be that much of a dick?

Last week I pulled off at the O'hare Oasis to add my typical 1 quart of oil at the 7000ish mile mark between oil changes. I pulled up next to a 535i and had a lovely conversation with the owner about BMW's and their common lets call them "Quirks" I dunno I guess it urked me.

Yeah, Seriously....I don't Drive a BMW to say "Look at Me!" I love the drive. I switched my husband who was a Jap car driver for years. I eased him into it. 2006 MKV GTI, 2008 Audi S4.....and then the shove into BMW. He won't go back despite the various headaches. We love the driving experience, period. And for the most part, the community of owners is pretty great as well.

I never realized it was a contest. Who cares what some A hole says? Evidently you cared enough to check out the other ride to compare to yours. Who cares?

FWIW it's irked not urked and you let the A hole's actions affect you. Never let what someone thinks or says control your emotions. I know it's easier said than done, but it's a learned skill.

Let him enjoy his car and think what he will; meanwhile enjoy yours knowing what it is. His is the best at what he wanted; yours is the best for you. It isn't a contest, really. So don't get drawn into one.

I don't get purple tint. Saw it just yesterday on a V12 CL500; WTF is wrong with people? And to put stick on fender vents on any BMW should be a ticketable equipment violation.
