Simple fix, Li-Ion.

Li-Ion can be drained dead, left in the discharged state for months, and will charge back up to 100% capacity.

MB has been using them for a few years now.

Had I not found a Bosch max RC/CCA battery for just over $100, I would have LI-Ion in the E53.

That's not likely the issue. The lifespans of LiPo and AGM are about the same. On point, 300 - 500 equivalent rated charge/discharge cycles.

From what I understand, Li-Ion can withstand over 2000 charge/discharge cycles.

Seems there's a lot of conflicting study result data on this subject online.

With an automotive issue (such as being discussed in this thread), a 50% DOD cycle will ruin approx 4 lead acid AGM batteries for 1 Li-Ion battery.

I don't think lipo batteries can be drained dead.They need to have some minimum cell voltage of approx 2.7~2.8.

Dead may have been a bad word, discharged below a voltage where the vehicle will function is better.

Li-ion can be discharged down to a voltage that will destroy AGM and lead acid units (deep cycle units included).

my inefficient n62 doesnt seem all that bad now.
