2010 X5 - rear right side cargo area fire

Hello all, I'm looking into a 2010 X5 that had a fire in the right rear cargo area, specifically below the right rear pocket in the cargo area. Are there any modules below that pocket, or is it just wiring? Would like to know if there are any parts breakdowns that may show what needs to be replaced?

Here is a picture of the area I am talking about.

Thanks!

When you remove the plastic pocket you may find a module or two.

Is there any good resource that could help me find out what is in the area of the fire? I will be taking it apart in a month or so and would like to know what is there beforehand.

You can use WDS wiring diagrams and component locations. What I do in cases like yours, is to remove everything modules and harness and start researching the modules by the labels.

I tend not to think 'there was a fire, what electrical modules got burned'

I think "what happened electrically, to start the fire - and how many other modules -maybe far from the fire -were damaged by this electrical issue?"

I guess as a first step you look for burned stuff, but then there is another layer of possible issues....

Id be on the phone with my insurance company. Fire = Insurance claim. Give it to the dealer and let them deal with it.
