Are the grilles different between E70s?

Can I put kidney grilles from a 2012 X5 onto my 2009 X5?

I remember reading somewhere that BMW slightly tweaked the design on the 2011+ X5 grilles. Are they exactly the same between model years or are they all interchangeable?

The holes in the hood are the same, they must be interchangeable. I am not sure if it is because the diesel or 2012 models, but the bars of my grills are silver, not black.

They're interchangeable.
