Dead parking brake actuator get E70 to move
Had the dreaded actuator failure yesterday. By fooling around with it, I was able to get it moving TEMPORARILY- try this at your own risk. Had the malfunction in the display. When engaging D or R, trans would shift into gear, but would re-engage P when service brake released. I discovered that if you get the vehicle moving by riding the brake, the vehicle will stay moving until at a complete stop. At that point, P re-engages and you have to repeat the process. I did pull the release in the cargo area. No drag from the parking brake. I did clear the code, put a piece of tape over the switch, and the X is driveable. Ordering parts today. This is not a long term solution, but I was able to use it to get it in the garage for diagnosis. Could be used to avoid dragging on a flatbed with wheels locked.
