End of Factory Warranty

I have an 12 X5d. It has 40k miles on it and the original warranty will be expiring in May. It then has the CPO for another 2 years. I want to take it in prior to May and have it checked over for any warranty covered issues. Does anyone have a list of items they can replace, even tho the item might still be ok ?... I'm sure the dealer would be happy to replace parts and get their money from BMWNA.

Thanks

Dealers definitely like to inflate prices and replace unnecessary parts. But, usually on the customers dime. I highly doubt they'd be willing to make a few thousand at the risk of pissing off BMWNA with unnecessary warranty claims.

Like everything, it'll likely depend on your relationship with the dealer. At your mileage there shouldn't be too much. But the usual would be the cooling system...radiator and water pump. Other things to check would likely be gaskets...specifically valve cover. You do have a CPO, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Take it to an indy and have them inspect the car with a fine tooth comb. Then take whatever they find to BMW. A good indy will be happy to help you.
