New Member Introduction

Hello, I wanted to introduce myself. I am not a newbie to the BMW forum scene. I am an active member of bimmerpost and bimmerfest for my cars, but I noticed the fantastic resources here at xoutpost, so I had to join.

Back in January 2015, I picked up a LCI X5d in San Diego and drove it home
The M3 still gets its spot in the garage however.

More info:

Car was CPO'd in November 2013 just before the CPO rules change...so it's 100% transferrable to me with no additional paperwork or $$$ paid to BMWNA

Back in July 2015, my wife and I drove along parts of the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. Total round trip was around 1200 miles and the X5 used 1.5 tanks of diesel and averaged 25.5 mpgs. Tire inflation was set at the maximum in the manual (41/48). Not bad considering we were climbing a lot of mountains and had a trunkload of stuff on the way back (tax free shopping in Oregon!)

The X5d was awesome carving up the mountain highway and was strong climbing I-5's mountain roads. High speed straight line stability was on part with my M3, and I attribute it to the OEM Dueler tires.

My best MPGs has been 29 highway on a few roundtrips between SF and Sacramento and San Jose. The SUV is loaded with people and gear too. Traffic, the lack there of, makes a big difference in achieving the mpgs.

I've also discovered HPR renewable diesel. It's a NEXBTL fuel.
