Most if not all of the newer models have electronic steering vs. hydraulic and many have complained in car reviews about the steering feedback.

I had a 2016 X3 with 2200 miles as a loaner for a day and a half when I took my 09 X5 35d in for some work. I immediately noticed how tinny it seemed just opening and closing the doors. The steering was way too light and had almost 0 road response. The interior felt small and somewhat cheap. It did accelerate and handle well tho it seemed to have a bit more roll in the corners than my X5. Of course it wasn't optioned with all the same packages and there's no real way to compare fairly, so this is just my opinion.

I did like the upgraded iDrive over my CCC system.
