Referral for BMW shop/mechanic in Atlanta

Hi all. This is my second X5 and it's a 2009 4.8is. I got rid of my 2006 4.6is when it started getting really expensive to maintain. Well it appears that now my 2009 is starting the same trend. I purchased this one from Global BMW and warranty is out. I notice a slow oil leak a few weeks ago and then my check engine light came on. I also noticed a kind of knocking noise and asked them to check that also.

Well I just got the email from my local indy shop saying that I need $4,649.92 worth of repairs! Here is what they are saying I need:
*Replace Alternator Stand Gasket - Leaking
*Replace valve cover gaskets - left & right with upper left and right timing cover gaskets
*Replace Water Pump - Bearing inside water pump bad
*Replace DMTL Pump due to fault code's 2A17, 2A15
*Oil & Filter Service

At this point I have to decide to either dump it or find a more reasonable shop/mechanic. Can anyone suggest a good shop (I live in west Atlanta)? If not, any advise on the above list would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a list of Indie shops US/CDA...
Scroll down and three are listed in GA. I suspect some GA people will chime in; you may want to post your query into Lounge or other forums as some readers only read select forums vs Today's Posts or New Posts which lists all the new posts. Having your question only in the E70 Board reduces the views.
Any good BMW oriented Indie can work on all the X series...

TiAgX5 kept the list up, but it is a clerical task and he did it as a favor for the Board.

Call SoloMotorsports.

They have worked on my X5 and many others in the area.
Also, they now opened a 2nd location so you have two to choose from.
Their prices are good as well.

Tell them Gregg with dropped blacked out 2008 x5 told you about them (I also got dropped a4).

I know but you can compare prices for that job and see what kind of prices that shop has.
