2013 E70 X5M - Would you buy?

Hell Forum Friends,

looking for a little insight, opinions and suggestions.

I am considering the purchase of a 2013 X5M. Currently has 111,000 miles. Engine was replaced at 75,000 miles due to rod bearing, which I have read is a common issue with these. I can get it for about $22,000.
I know BMW V8's can be finicky... Having had two different E53's in my past, the 4.6is was fine for the most part, the 4.8is was a nightmare.

With maintenance both required and preventative I believe they can be fine but hoping to hear from some people who have had first-hand experience with these E70 X5M's..
Stay away? buy it, love it?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Thanks

Really like our X5 30i m-sport, the e70 is a really cool platform. However, I wouldn't spend $22,000 on one, no matter what engine came with it.

I'd be inclined to buy a 50i that has had the customer care package done (rebuilt engine or replaced engine by BMW warranty) for maybe $12k or less.

X5M with the S63 engine is a blast to drive. But the engine isn't the most DIY friendly, as analyzed by Nathan here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n75gMnrYBcE

N63 and S63 are virtually the same design.

I own one and it has 71,000 miles now. I am very careful with the engine maintenance, changing the oil at every 5,000 miles, using Liqui Moly 5W40 and Mobile 1 0W40 with oil saver additives.

I let it idle for a few minutes after driving so the engine and its turbo can cool down. I even took off the engine cover to allow better heat dissipation.

So far so good, but I won't buy one like yours with so many miles on it.

Replaced with what...by whom?

Just a used engine lying around? Or a factory reman by BMW techs?
