Wink Run lights using fogs

Using fogs lghts for LED Run Lights
E70 MY11
There is not much fog around here, so i wanted to use the fog lights as Driving Lights
and to come on whenever the ignition was on.
We do a lot of country driving so this made sense.
I replaced the fog lights with LEDs, so they are now 6000K and much more visible during the day.
The Existing Halogen yellow run lights were almost useless.
Anyway I'm very happy with the outcome so here's how I did it.
In Australia, the cigarette lighters are only on when the car is running.
The back seat cigarette lighter is very easy to access, so I ran power from there.
It was very easy to run the wires to the bulkhead by removing the carpet in the centre console (see my other post on useless phone cradle removal).
To get through the bulkhead, I drilled a small 1/8 inch hole In the plastic plate surrounding the air-conditioner inlet.
Note:
1. I kept the existing Halogens connected as is (tie wrapped out of the way) to prevent the Computer error message.
2. I bought a couple of cheap H8 adapters on eBay to make a neat, waterproof job.

Anyway I'm very happy with the outcome,
so if you want to know more, just ask.

Run lights

E70 MY11
Run lights go on with ignition.
All lights showing HID High beam and LED Spotlight.
Spot light goes on with high beam.
And I said we do a lot of country driving.
Low beam as original, yellow but legal.

You added that center spotlight? Is that common in AUS? I've never seen that before. Does it help a lot?

Next you need the big roll bar with a row of rally lights on top

I will leave the roll bar and rally lights for you.
The LED Spotlight sends a focused beam 800m ahead.
As in the US, there are things that go bump in the night.
As i said, we do a lot of driving to our farm in the country.
Believe me, it helps.
