has no-one found a decent LED kit yet? for HID fogs you should code out cornering lights. the warm-up time of HIDs makes them unattractive for anything that doesn't require them to be continuously switched on. also, frequent on-off cycles take their toll on the burners.

Not only that, the FRM is not sending full voltage to the foglights anway. See my post about having to code the FRM to disable the power management

not sure the voltage is an issue. the arcs themselves run at way higher than 12V and it takes a whole lot more to strike them up in the first place. i've seen ballasts accepting anything from 9V to 32V. so i'm guessing it's down to finding the right kit. still i'm unclear as to why, it's not like super bright fog lights bring huge benefits to the table.

Just search for BMW and flickering HID fogs, you will see what I mean. Its not that the FRM sends low voltage, its that it sends it in pulses.

I have a cheaper set i got from ebay with code cancelers and they have been working great, there is flicker during shut down but it doesn't bother me. They illuminate great, sometimes i can just drive with the fogs on only (coded).

I got this set but you need the code cancelers as well. 4300K is good match to factory HID color.

Your just blinding everyone on the road with unfocused light, using a hid in a non-projector is not very curtious to other drivers on the road. Keeping the BMW owner stereotype alive I guess. To each their own though.

The main reason I did it is because my wife has a hard time seeing at night and we live kind of out in the country. The deer don't mind. There is a on and off switch.

Just buy a H11 kit and code cancelers and you are good to go. It all plugs in, 10 min job. That's what i run and no it doesn't blind anyone. I have never been flashed back in the 2 years i had these on, and i have them on 90% of the time. The design of the fog light housing actually directs the light down and to the sides.

I just took a 3hr trip last night on back roads with deer everywhere and i was able to see them on the side, in the woods because the HID bulbs in the fogs throws the light further to the sides, not so much to the front. I love mine and its a good upgrade to do in my opinion.
