Did I fry my hi-mount brake light??

While attempting to install a hi-mount brake strobe this afternoon on my E70 X5, I accidentally crossed some of the wiring and ended up (I believe) blowing the fuse that protects the brake light.

Every other light on the car is functioning, just not the hi-mount. I got into the rear fuse box and checked fuse #'s: 96, 110, 124. They all seemed fine but just for process of elimination sake I swapped them out with replacements and still nothing on the hi-mount.

Still going through process of elimination, I had a small 12 volt led light laying around that I tested and know works. So I hooked it up to the high mount wires and upon pressing the brake pedal I got a very faint amount of light. A very small fraction of what the output should be though. So I'm thinking fried fuse right? just barley getting enough current through to dimly light the small LED but not enough to light the larger/brighter hi-mount.

But then I wonder if the cars electrical system doesn't actually deliver 12v to the high mount. And that it is made to run on a lower voltage for whatever reason? I'm thinking maybe that's why the small LED wont light up fully and I actually burnt out the hi-mount itself instead of a fuse. Or maybe I shorted the actual wire somewhere in the car?

The fuse box diagram doesn't list everything individually and I couldn't find anything on the interwebs pertaining to the hi-mount/specific lights. I don't know if I am looking at the right fuses or not.

Does anyone know the exact fuse location for the hi-mount? Does it share it with any other lights? And if so, it appears I either fried the hi-mount itself or shorted the wire. If that is the unfortunate case, does anyone know the actual voltage of the supply wire so that I can eliminate whether or not its a short in the hi-mount or the wire? Thanks everyone!

~Nate
