Glove Box Lock Pre-LCI and LCI

Hi,

I'm looking at changing out the trim in my 2008 4.8.

The part numbers for the lower doors on all of the parts pages appear to be the same (see diagram and 2008/2012 part numbers).

The seller is telling me that there is a difference between the pre-LCI and LCI lower glovebox "locks" that are on each end of the part.
In the attached photo, the lock on my 2008 is #2, while the trim piece he is selling is #1.

As an example, if I order item #3 on the diagram
Part number: 51 45 9 207 175
Cover glove box lower
PIANOLACK
Yes P7G7A

Which style of locks are on the part when I get it?
Are there any, or do I use the ones from my current glove box cover?
Are the locks able to be changed since there is a screw on each style in about the same location?

I seems all of the interior trim kits for sale on eBay are for 2007-2013, so there must be a trick to this...
Did anyone have an issue with this in their interior trim change over?
If so, how did you get around it?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
John

From what I can recall when replacing the lower glovebox door (and permanently attached wood trim), it is a two piece assembly. The first piece consists of the wood trim permanently fastened to the main lower glovebox door face (what all of the common part numbers reference to, pre-LCI or LCI). The second piece is the back (glovebox facing) plastic piece (takes up about 1/2 of the backside) that has the glovebox door latch hook--I had to move this from my original lower glovebox door to my new lower glovebox door (I think it was just 2 screws holding it down).

Of note, to remove/replace the lower glovebox door, you'll need to take out the whole glovebox assembly. The lower swinging door (and attached trim) is attached the main glovebox assembly by the long round metal shaft (allow it to swing open/closed), which you'll need to tap out. Once the shaft is tapped out, the lower door door (and trim) can be removed. Again, you'll need to move the backside plastic back trim (with latching hook) from your original lower door to the new lower door.

Thanks X5Boise...

I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure this out.
