Key fob lock/unlock not working

I have a 2012 x5 35d, yesterday I noticed that my key fob wouldn't open or close the door. My comfort access works fine.
I can start the car as well. I changed the battery in my fob but that didn't help. Could it be a fuse?

Is there a 2nd key in the vehicle? that would prevent the car from locking.

Do you have a slot where you can insert your key? If yes, when was the last time you actually inserted it into the slot?

Sometimes odd things can happen and the key can get out of sync with CAS. To resync the key, try inserting it into the slot, then start the car.

If you try the above suggestion...post back the results. If it was successful, reporting back your resolution may help someone else in the future that has the same issue.

All I had to do is sync my key again. Easy process.
Close the door in the car, insert key fob, eject key fob, hold lock button while pressing unlock 3 times. It worked, thanks for your help guys.

2007 X5 E70 - Key FOB Issues - Also

On my vehicle, I too am having Key FOB issues, only locking the car when I leave it. All the other controls on the Key FOB work fine all the time, it's only the locking button that is working intermittently.

This has been ongoing for about 6 months now. I have done more research on this issue than any other car fact out there. I have tried more remedies than most would have.

Because it's the "Lock Button", syncing the FOB won't work. Trying to program a new key requires an existing key, again it requires that first FOB to have a working lock button.

I've since ordered a Creator C110 Auto Scanner V4.0 for BMW 2000-2011 Code Reader so I can program new FOBs.

When things are working intermittently they will drive you absolutely crazy.

All The Best,

All The Best,
Mmmm, the cheapest tool that will program keys for your car is around $500. This is with high risk of damaging the CAS. Good, safe tools are more like $2k+
