2nd antenna? I already have Sirius in my current CCC setup so the Satellite antenna already exists. 2x microphone wires? I wouldn't think you would need to replace the microphone that was used with the Bluetooth TCU as well as the TCU's Bluetooth antenna, I would figure that you would connect it into the NBT.

In my E38 retrofit of NBT, my current Sirius antenna will plug into the NBT along with my existing Bluetooth antenna that was from my Bluetooth and OEM Sirius ibus system retrofit.

1) Replaced Alternator, Belts and Tensioner
2) replaced engine rain tray (mine was all cracked they use the cheapest most brittle plastic)
3) new MAF
4) Replaced fluids on Diffs, Xfer, Transmission, Power Steering, Coolant and oil, and air filters
5) replaced spark plugs (what a pain)
6) Replaced rear hatch struts the power lift gate failed
7) entire CCV system
8) front lower control arms and sway bar end links
9) Heater Valve
10) replaced melted trim plastic
11) additives to fix engine smoking on extended idle

To-Fix
Sunroof wont close from vent position
front diff leaks oil
parking break module failure
front rear control arms and upper control arms as well as strut mounts (they've rotted)
Probably shocks/struts as well, I think they're starting to get pretty tired

To Watch
Noisy power steering pump (mine has adaptive drive)

I purchased mine in October, I also tinted my windows and added trailer hitch. Between repairs, maintenance and a few mods, and most of this was diy, I've spent more than 50% of the purchase price of the car :-(
Looks like you invested a few bucks into the X. I've seen them last with a lot of km on autotrader. However, requires quite a bit of maintenance. Nice X BTW

The Sirius box in the the trunk area. So you will need to run a fakra extension from NBT in the dash to the sirius antenna lead in the trunk.

The 2x microphone wires go to the TCU also in the trunk. You can pull them from the trunk to the A pillar and run them down to the dash area to the NBT in dash. Or you can run new ones from current dome location to the NBT in dash.

The NBT uses 2 antennas. they alternate between the 2 for best reception. When I only used i antenna lead, I would get bad traffic info.

In your e38 the NBT is placed in the trunk, so you had close access to the antenna and mic leads.
In your e70 the NBT goes into the dash. So, your sirius and mic leads will be in the trunk.

...Unless you want to install the NBT in the trunk and run the display and controller wire all the way to the front.

But I know nothing!

Didn't mean to offend or make you think I didn't trust you. I ask for knowledge. I know where everything is located on both, but I thought the microphone leads came from the CCC in front not the TCU in the rear side.

Thank you for the two antenna comment to as that makes more sense.

But again, people, including me like to understand the details and that is why I asked you.

Cheers

Congrats on the new X. Love the color. I'm following your nbt build. I want to do mine also, and if you can do a good write up for a noob like me (don't mind doing the knitty gritty), it would be most appreciated.

Sorry,
I'm touch and go recently.... Still coping with a death in the family. And being the responsible kid. I had to do all the medical decisions and funeral arrangements. Wifey says I havent had time to grieve yet.
I try to stay busy and keep things moving. Maybe that's why I bought this car. It gives me something to do while I sort my life out.

Anyone know where the bluetooth antenna is? With pictures? Lets get the show on the road!! I already have my NBT parts. Just awaiting emulator.

The emulator is going to take a couple weeks to get here. I might just throw in the CIC while I wait.
