A while ago it started with major issues with dynamic drive valve block. After BMW had their shot and cost me a fortune in a new valve block etc I took the car home and found a bad wire somewhere through the firewall. I put in a new wire from connector to connector, and everything was good. I was not able to remove the loom or inspect it without disassembling the whole dash and lots of stuff. However... I now have faults on the air spring solenoid valve (which is also supplied in the same loom) and replacing it only fixed it for a few days. I also have faults on the DSC wheel speed sensor front right, and again, replacing that does not make a difference. It does give me a slightly different resistance reading on the Fluke, but I am guessing the old one is also working. I found out that BMW actually supply a wiring loom called "rep wiring harness ABS/DSC", part number 61119199250. Sometimes they have repair kits to be able to replace wiring when repairing a damaged vehicle, but this one makes me wonder... is this a known issue? Anyone have similar stories?
Also wondering if anyone knows how this loom splices into the main loom of the car. There are connectors for the vertical dynamics ecu, but others goes further and they are all in a big bundle. Does the kit include connectors or is it a solder job? What about disassembly to gain access?
I am posting this on bimmerfest as well, as I am in a hurry - I really need the car for a long vacation trip in one week!
