Center consoles switch buttons???

Does anyone know what the outer left & right buttons are for? I can find info about all the other buttons...but the last two are coming up empty on google searches...as well as a download copies of the owners manual.

In my 2002 E46 M3, they are for heated seats.

On this one the heated seats are clearly visible in the upper left.

I believe they are just non used buttons in the E70 and there just to be symmetrical. As mentioned, the E46 uses them for heated seats, but the E70 has no use for them. Unless it is options only available within the European market. But in the NA market, they appear not to be utilized.

...extra/spare buttons is probably correct...thanks for the input.

And as mentioned already, in the pic above, this e70 is optioned with heated & ventilated seats...the button to activate those features is at the top left of the round knob with AUTO written on it.
