Question Xenon headlight adjustment X5 E70

I read alot of people saying they "shouldnt" be adjusted due to auto leveling, but I also read that they CAN be adjusted. I know the procedures for proper headlight aiming but have no idea how to adjusted the headlights on the 2007 X5 E70 series with Xenon.

My passenger side is very low aimed just a couple feet from the front bumper and my driver side light appears to be aimed too high. I need to adjust them both. Anyone have detailed instructions with pictures that deal specifically with the X5 E70 with Xenon? (pictures of earlier models or sedan models arent the same). Thanx.

Does your xenon headlamps look like the one below? If yes, then look for those white screws seen in the bottom pic. Then pull up to your garage door or wall...and stop about 10-15 feet back...then turn on the headlights and adjust the lights higher or lower...or left/right.

No problem...I wonder what happened with the OP? I replied with this info in two threads...but didn't hear anything back to verify if this would apply to his pre LCI e70 X5.

If the OPs headlights do NOT look like this...then perhaps a picture (of the back side of his headlights) would be worth a thousand words. Perhaps the adjustment screws are not white on the pre LCI.

Adjust headlights at adjusting screws (1) and (2).
(A definite allocation of adjusting screws is not possible.)
  1. Adjustment screw primarily for vertical adjustment
  2. Adjustment screw primarily for lateral adjustment
