Yesterday bought tcu on ebay for 70€ from Minsk! Hope sos will be gone and bt will be back!

Sorry for necropost, but can you share any results? Did you had to code TCU, or somehow mate it with idrive? Or it just worked plug and play? I’m trying to understand what will be easier for me, to bypass tcu, or to order another one from ebay.

I would like to help you, but I am.not at home! I will be there only in spring I bought it because this tcu is the same except imei! Rest numbers are the same. Plus PK (pass key) is different! Bmw has posted that this is impossible just to change them and even code them that could be wrong..because they need your money to get new one from them
I have red 2 posts from owners with same situation who just changed them and it worked!
I hope Quicksilver may correct ne here!
There are few types of them! The main line is under word CONTINENTAL! Take a look to yours! For usa market will be different words in that line!

This is for usa market if I am right! Paper stick is different in functions I do not know!
The boys here inRiga who knows good ncs-expert saying that u can uncode factory's tcu and recode new one
But I hope it will work!

Didn't have to recode or flash the TCU. But the BT access point uses the last digits of the VIN from which the TCU was obtained. I suspect this could be overridden but it's not necessary as it functions just fine. SOS message is gone and BT works fine. Phones connect and the speaker system works for hands-free calls.

Paldies, Tev arī gaišus
Es noskaidroja pie Ulda, ka var sosu nokodēt un principā, ta jau lietotu citu vairs nevajag! Es plānoju tàpat androidu ielikt!
Iespējams man tad būs lieks modulis

Hi Sorry for hijacking. But where is this tcu located?
My bluetooth just gone. It's ticked in the setting menu, but i've tried to pair it with few phones without success (including the phone that used to be paired with the car). And when checked with Carly it did not show any error. Was wondering whether this is related to your issue.

Thanks,

It is in the trunk...left side I think it is easy to see from picture! You can try to pull out main big plug from tcu. If there is no bt option on the screen....probably it is gone....

OK
i'll have a go this weekend. The Bluetooth setting is fine on the display. It even goes to the pairing setup page. But both my phones (including the one used to pair before) can't seem to see the BMW bluetooth. Weird. Anyway, thanks for the info.
