3.0si missing a hose?? Possible CCV issue?

I picked up a 2010 X5 3.0si. I know the CCV is integrated into the valve cover on these motors. On my other bmw there is a small hose that runs from the CCV in the valve cover to a nipple right before the throttle body. I don't see the hose anywhere hanging in the engine bay, I also do not see any nipples for it to connect to. Is the connection for the CCV on the valve cover just to suppose to vent to the engine bay?? what am I missing??
