E70 trailer indicator light
I am having problems with the right direction indicator light which is not working, this is the only issue, all other lights are ok, the indicator light to the left also works. The indicator light works as it should when I connect the trailer to any other car.
Any suggestions what could be the issue? Is there any wiring diagram available? The car came from the factory with the towing hitch. The car is from 2008. |

Any other electrical oddities in your car??
The Footwell module passes commands to the 'Trailer Module', which then activates each of the wires that go to the trailer pin connections. If the footwell module or trailer module are bad, this could result in the right turn indicator never getting transmitted....

Where is the footwell module located?
One other issue I have is that in the dash I get the error message that the car brake lights are not working, but in reality the lights work. |

Maybe it is easier to just route a new wire from the tail light right indicator light?

Seems pretty hacky to me. (And trying to add a trailer bulb into the circuit that is driving the normal taillight bulb will almost surely trip new errors) FRM is on the Left drivers side (USA), by your knee against the side. IIRC. Google Footwell module....you will find a TON of info. You have an FRM problem, IMO. With ISTA you should be able to query the module, I think. And others offer a service to repair FRMs. Last edited by ard; 12-30-2022 at 10:25 PM. |
