Inner projectors on MY2011 LCI X5

My X5 is a 35d produced in August 2011. It has the S524A Adaptive Headlight option (standard). I looked at the back of the headlights and I found the sticker on the LEFT headlight with what I think is the part number, a partial one anyway:

7 294 605 (7294605)

It is branded ‘Automotive Lighting’ and ‘Made in Mexico’ and has a BMW roundel.

As this appears to be a partial number, I assumed it would start with a ’63 12’ or a ’63 11’ like other headlights for BMWs. I performed a search via Google and on realOEM for ‘63 12 7 294 605’ (63127294605) and ‘63 11 7 294 605’ (63127294605) and did not get any hits. I then just searched for the 7-digit number and got some hits on eBay but none on realOEM.
Using my VIN on realOEM I found what I think should be the part numbers for my headlights:

LEFT: 63 12 7 298 451 (63127298451)
RIGHT 63 12 7 298 452 (63127298452)

The part numbers above are for vehicles with Xenon Lights (S522A) and Adaptive Headlights (S524A).

(1) My first question is why the apparent discrepancy in the part number(s) and what is the significance of the discrepancy?

Successfully retrofitted LCI headlights (with LED coronas) in to my E70 X5

The link above shows that the retrofit on an early MY2011 was accomplished using the P/N ‘451 and ‘452 headlights. In the pictures, clearly the inner projector is not emitting any light. My inner projectors do not emit any light either. There is some suggestion on the internet that the bulb that resides behind the inner projector supplies the light for the coronas (angel eyes) and the most ardent of those stating that seem to be talking about the E9x platform and not the E70 generally. In the thread above, the OP mentions that you need (4) P/N 63 11 7 263 051 (63117263051) LED Modules. Presumably, it seems that at least on the latest LCI headlights for the E70 those LED Modules provide the source of illumination for the coronas.

LED Angel Eyes

In the above thread, it is clear that on the pre-LCI lights with angel eyes, the inner projector DID in fact light up. I assume that the light bulb behind the inner projector on these headlights provide the illumination for the coronas.

The reason I started looking at my headlights is because I want to learn more about the inner projectors. I would like them to light up and function as additional high beam or, at the very least, perform the flash-to-pass function. What I have learned is that on my LCI headlights at least, there is likely an opaque disc behind the inner projector which prevents any light from passing through as depicted in the first thread I linked to above.
I know that the inner projectors cannot be “activated” on my headlights without modification, chiefly the removal of the opaque disc, which leads to my next questions:

(2) Since it is difficult to see the back of the lights and I only recently obtained my X5, is there a bulb socket position behind the inner projector on my headlights?

(3) Is there a headlight that fits the MY2011 E70 where the inner projector does emit light?

(4) Does the equipment and/or do the modules in my 8/2011 E70 support activation of the inner projectors as:
a) Additional high beams and
b) Flash-to-Pass function?

(5) If I can activate the inner projectors/make them emit light, can they be coded as the cornering light instead of the fog lights?

(6) If these parts exist, can LED coronas be retained?

I would like these functions for a number of reasons. First, I think it is better in the long term for the low-beam HIDs not to be flashed when I pull the turn signal stalk back; admittedly it is not often but it is a consideration. Second, I would enjoy the additional light output from having a dedicated high-beam projector in addition to the bi-Xenon low-beam projector. The cornering light function, while new to me, just makes better sense if it exists on the headlight rather than on the bumper in my mind. Further, assigning the high-beam and flash-to pass function to the inner projectors is more congruent to past BMW designs and just looks better in my opinion.

Any assistance that any of you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Part numbers, if the compatible parts exist, would be awesome.

I know for certain there's no light "socket" for the inner light on the X5 LCI headlights. The control module sits there instead. The bi-xenon feature makes an additional socket unnecessary as I understand. You can check pics on eBay to see inside the area you refer.

So I have owned my x5 e70 LCI 09/2012 since new, and I just learned today that the inner projectors aren't functional at all. This is fascinating, since they have D2S bulbs installed and used to work before programming my car. Literally this evening I got home with high beams on (41° in idaho and heavy rain so we all have high beams on) and I noticed the inner lamps are completely off when I pulled into my garage. Only saw the normal lights on in high beam mode. Very concerned since snow is coming. Why would installing DVD in motion disable my secondary high beams? I have E70 x5 xDrive 35d full tech pack with hot and cold weather package. This just happened out of nowhere. Ive programmed my car 50 times before I got this error. Also, my steeringwheel control for recirculation has been switched to media button, and media button does nothing. Bad programmer from Carista?
