Coolant leak, 4.8, losing about half the expansion tank per day or so
So I have done a bit of research and it looks like it could be the valley pipe or something along those lines. This really pisses me off, this #%$$%ing truck cannot just stop breaking shit.
I'm taking it in tomorrow to get one of my lug bolt holes retapped and I guess my question is, where would it be leaking if it is the valley pipe? I haven't looked underneath it but it looks like it is leaking in the front ish area and also towards the back. I can't really tell where it's coming from. What am I looking at damage wise ($$$) If I had someone take care of this? I really don't have a spot or location to do the work myself and the thread that had the DIY has all of the images no longer being hosted so I can't see how to do it either. Thanks for any help! |

Front ish and the back sounds like coolant transfer pipe. It leaks out a weep hole in the front just under the intake but then gets blown back while driving. Comes down the front, puddles up on passenger side of intake manifold, and comes down back of engine.

expansion tank crack confirmed, thankfully this is an easier fix than the transfer pipe.
