Missing engine partition

Can someone tell me what I'm missing in the partition? Is there suppose to be a gap like this?

I looked in realoem and I know that the middle is missing but the gap doesn't seem right.

This is a 2007 4.8:

Mine did the same thing. You need the left and right engine partitions as well. You robably also need the plastic/rubber end-pieces and seal each partition to the sides of the engine bay.

51757171791 and 51757171792

P.S. While your at it, give that engine bay a wash!

Your left and right sections broke in half and now the top piece half is missing. You need all 3 to get it back to normal.

Where is the wire bundle that snaps into the two metal clips in the second picture?

What wire bundle?

After carefully studying other pics I see what is broken on the left and right pieces. I guess mine broke off clean and it just didn't look like it was broken besides the obvious missing center section.

Thanks guys!

Just from experience, you'll want to listen to this...

Looks to me like you also need a part #15 in the diagram, which is Partition, engine bay, lower center 51717169422. Those two metal tabs sticking out with bolt holes appear to be where #15 should be connected (if memory serves me correctly). If so, #14 will be hard to mount properly.

When I replaced #10 (left, right) and #14 (top center), first I realized that #18 (on the passenger side) was broken, then I realized that #15 (lower center) was severely broken so had to wait for that part too. Of course, you'll need any screws/bolts/rivets that were lost in the making of your image/s.

To clarify and reduce confusion - double check all the parts highlighted in blue.

This would be (for my X anyway):

#10 51717169419 bulkhead engine compartment top left (Driver's side)
#10 51717169420 Partition, engine compartment, top right (Passenger's side)
#14 51717169421 Partition, engine bay, top center (connects #10 left to #10 right)
#15 51717169422 Partition, engine bay, lower center (connects #10 & #14 to firewall, partly under windshield wiper cowling)
#18 51757171791 Partition, engine bay, outer left (connects #10 to engine bay)
#18 51757171792 Partition, engine bay, outer right (connects #10 to engine bay)
#19 51757174642 Cover for engine bay partition (probably ok)
#21 51767171793 Seal for wiring harness (probably ok)

All those broken plastic bits, some of them may be large, are hiding in your engine bay somewhere, probably.

Lastly, if you end up needing #15, you'll have to remove the windshield wipers - make sure you mark how they are lined up before you remove them so you don't re-install and discover they're not where they should be.

When I got the car, #14 was already missing. Parts of #15 was dangling and when I touched it, it just broke off like nothing. Just buy staring it at it will come apart lol

Everything but #15 is so expensive! I can get #10 left & right and #14 as 1 kit from evay for $40 but #15 is $100 by itself.

But they're worth the price.

Silver lining for you though; appears you still have 51237161345 (the foam sound strip that goes over the partition). Mine is missing and that piece is $50+.

This Available

Well I replaced my completely demolished engine partition. Not a particularly difficult job at all. Only thing is since I replaced all 3 pieces I no longer have the factory sticker re. oil type. Is this sticker available from Dealer?
