Fuel Line Retaining Clip

I swapped out the right side in-tank fuel pump today in my 2011 x5 35d. In the process I cracked one of the little green fuel line retaining clips on the hose coming from the left side pump. I had hoped I could push it back into place and it'd be fine but the pump blows the line right off within 10-15s.

Realoem doesn't list a part # for this clip OR the hose as a stand-alone piece. The hoses come as part of the left side pump which I really don't want to have to go buy because of a 50 cent plastic retaining clip.

Dorman makes a bunch of this style clips, does anybody know the correct part # so I can make the rounds to the auto part stores tomorrow trying to find one.

I forgot to take a picture of the clip before I left the garage, but it looks like this, just green.

Based on the diagram I'm looking at, BMW does not sell that clip by itself , it is part of the line assembly coming off the left side pump.

I'd call salvage yards that may have that left side pump to see if they have a bad one they'd be willing to sell you so you can take the clip you need off of it.

No, I've seen numerous threads saying BMW doesn't sell the clip. It's common for the gas guys to break the clip on the top of their pump, and most just buy a replacement line for like $50. But BMW doesn't sell just the line between the 2 pumps in the diesel, only the whole left pump assembly.

Some guys talked about these clips being made by Dorman. But there's a lot of them. 800-023, 800-040, 800-041, 800-027, 800-122.5, 800-003
I'm hoping one of these are the right ones because they're only like $10 for a pack of them.

Not a terrible idea for the salvage yard, not like I'd need one that works. But the odds of the only salvage yard within 3 hours of here having an e70 diesel are pretty low. Everything is closed today but I'll add them to the list of places to call tomorrow.

Good luck with it then! I'd definitely call around the salvage yards, and if that yields no result, maybe it would be worthwhile to order all 3 possible packs from Doorman and hope one works! A $30 gamble with Doorman may pay off and avoid you having to spend big money on an entire sending unit!

It took 3 parts stores but found one that had a bin full of these style clips. Found some listed as Ford clips that matched up. They cost $1.02 each taxes inc. Put them in, clipped everything together and all is good. Unfortunately they just had it in their system as "Misc Fuel Clips" and no part number so I can't help any future searchers. But these clips are available.
