comfort access fault

Having trouble with comfort access on our 2011 build e70 x5d.

ista/d shows these faults

00A103 CAS:Immobilizer bus fault
00CF37 Message from car access system to body bus faulty, receiver egs, transmitter something...
002E3D DDE: Interface EWS-DDE

anyone had to deal with this before? I ran diagnostics on the comfort access module and it reads everything ok

I have had chronic issues with CA, but not fully diagnosed. Never seen an error, but ignition/trunk seem to work, though all doors nonfunctional.

you have to use ista/d to read the codes, they wont show up with regular code readers

I have the same problem, all the doors stopped working a couple months ago, truck button works, can start without key in the slot, only the doors are failing to work

I swapped one handle (driver) thinking the fault was there, still no luck. Hopefully I'm not hijacking, but have you seen any way to test the handles? I wonder if a fault in one would make all 4 fail or if the failure of all 4 means a more central issue?

Although I think the car is supposed to notify you if the key fob's battery is getting low, it's a pretty cheap thing to try out.

All doors stopped unlocking, but would usually lock on the wife's X5. Also no problems with push to start. Initially thought maybe since the weather was getting colder, but had a spare battery so popped it in. Works as intended now. Not sure if it notified her...I took the opportunity to show her how to check for any messages.

Thanks, we have definitely changed the batteries quite a few times. Initially only 1/2 FOBs did any CA, so I changed batteries several times on this assumption.

Mega, it seems like I have identical problem / same codes. Were you ever able to find further what caused the CA malfunction?

Same issue w/ my 2011 X5 3.5i .. driver's door touch access failed after 4 years; dealer said actuator, $650 to fix --- I decided to live with the issue. Yesterday, the remain 3 doors stopped unlocking w/ touch.

This issue is happening across other BMW models. I am still surprised that nobody to my knowledge has pinpointed the issue.

If the door opens with central unlocking, then likely NOT the 'actuator'. The door handle itself has contacts in it, they have been known to fail. Now, something ELSE happened with yours to now cause the other 3 to stop. Not actuators. And not 3 door handles at once.
