Xdrive35i Brake Pad Recommendations

I did a search and didn't spot any threads on this (which is odd) hopefully I didn't miss it. If I did - my apologies in advance.

It's time for front and rear pads (and rotors) on a 2012 Xdrive 35i Sport - daily driver. Looking for pad recommendations.

FWIW I live in Seattle so I'm often in rain and occasionally snow. I'm happy to go with Semi-mettalics over ceramics but just want to make sure the car stops as fast as possible (brake dust sucks and is ugly...but it's better looking than a crumpled front end) and that the brakes are quiet. I want the best but don't want to want to add a big brake kit/system or anything like that.

So what do you guys recommend (semi-mets or Ceramics?) Any specific brands/models you like?

Im probably going to lean towards less brake dust when I replace mine. Even if ceramics have less stopping power I am willing to bet they have more stopping power than the tires have traction.

I replaced both fronts and rears with Akebono EURO pads. Stops well, and very little brake dust. I also replaced the rotors with Zimmerman coated rotors.

All my Bimmers get the same rotors and pads in the first month of ownership. I hate how the OEM PAGID pads quickly coat the wheels with black dust...

Yeah I want to get a staggard set of 20" OZ Supertourismo Dakars for my wifes X5 but I have to get this brake dust thing under control first. LOL It drives me crazy!

I'm running Powerstop Ceramic's F/R on my 35D. The reminder came on last month to change them but they still have half of their pads left. The brake dust is all but gone.

Look into R1 Concepts as well. I’ve installed many of their kits on friends’ cars and they are pretty solid. I also use their slotted rotors on my E90. Don’t be fooled by their low prices, the quality is there also. They have awesome customer service as well. My 2012 X5 is due for rotors and pads right now and I’ll be doing their whole kit with their line of ceramic pads.
