Burl Walnut Trim is so hard to find undamaged!
Looks like it's just the coating itself that is cracked but the worst of all is the driver side its lifting, cracked, chipped and what not. I've been searching for 2-3 months now on ebay, facebook, craigslist and all I can find is the Bamboo and not the burl walnut. And if I do find the walnut it's either worse than mine or the same conditions. I'm about to just order a new one from ECS or something unless someone can point to a better direction/option? I don't want to wrap it in CF as I prefer the wood finish look (must be getting old lol, I used to drool over anything CF) |

I like the wood trim too, but I am not sure why your wood trim is cracking - is your X out in the sun a lot or something? I don't want to jinx myself, but I have never had a BMW trim piece crack...yet.

I have the same issue too. The trim on my doors has cracks along the length of the trim piece. I do not know if I should go and try to replace the two pieces that have cracks in them, or replace the whole interior with carbon fiber trying or something else.
My car spends a lot of time in the sun during the day. It wouldn’t surprise me if that played a role in cracking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My glove box piece just cracked last winter. Maybe it's the cold? Everyone are cracked now except the rear doors.

I currently have it in my car and it is in mostly great condition. A few minor cracks that are not that visible, and no issues with coating, etc. I'd be willing to sell my set to you. I want the bamboo, and found a set on Ebay. Would be a good excuse to pull the trigger.

Car was not garaged, and was subject to sun exposure as well as climate swings from mid teens to high nineties throughout its life.. Not that this helps the OP in finding replacements, but I guess my point is that I'd doubt that you will have much luck finding used replacements that are not suffering the same fate..

At least on the e53 the door cards don't have to be removed. Not that it's hard but still.

Mine is mostly fine being a garaged car. I’d consider selling if the cost covered wrapping a replacement set.
