Water from a leaking cup Down the Cup Holder

This is the freakiest thing, I put a styrofoam cup full of water in the right cup holder on mr 2010 X5, there was a tooth pic in the cup holder which I didn't notice, but it somehow punctured the styrofoam cup and the water emptied out in the cup holder and went down through the spring loaded fingers. I only noticed when I picked the cup up for a sip that the cup was empty. Is there a drain under the cup holder that safely sent the water to the ground or do I have to remove the cup holder and the console around it to dry things out.

No unfortunatly I am not aware of any manufacturer that is proactive enough as to have some sort of drainage from the cupholders :-\ You'd definitely want to remove the cupholder and consule to start drying underneath. Maybe adding some baking soda on the wet spots I suspect are there to soak up the up-coming wet-carpet stank.

Thankfully it was WATER and not another type of drink that has sugar or other ingredients that would dry and leave residue or some type of sticky gunk.

Water will evaporate and not leave a stain or gunk.

It will evaporate with no issues. I wouldn't bother opening anything up...
