Dumb question: can I adjust the door to body fit
I noticed that my doors are installed such that the door seals are not well compressed. As a result water gets in along the top seal and I get a lot of wind noise abouve 70mph. A slight squeeze with my hand along the top/inside of the door frame pulls the door inwards a tiny amount, but enough to dramatically reduce wind noise. I’d say the Spartanburg plant is fitting the doors too far outward at the B-Pillar.
Anyone try adjusting the door fit inward? As the front door mounts adjustable at all? Thanks. |

I found a link to an online bmw manual and indeed the door fit is fully adjustable.
Problem solved. |

Can you post the link? I too find road noise and the seals look in great condition.

yes, both hinges and the latch should be adjustable.
