Blower Unit re-fitting

We have a 2009 BMW X5 and the blower unit was starting to make the 'chirp' noise. I thought that I would remove it and give it a clean and oil.

I managed to remove the fan fine using the following instructions: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ntrols/QH51zKr

However, I've really struggled to get the fan back in place, it really doesn't want to line up in the grooves correctly and when lining up on plastic guides the screw holes don't line up.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions as to line it up correctly as I'm at a loss.
