E70 4.8l dme from the wrecking yard, how could..

How could I install another DME to replace the existing one, and without the help of the stealership either! How do we trick the system so that the same keys could fire up the truck?

I would say its not that simple but my dme programming knowledge is zero....given how complex these machines are it will require some vin programming I’d say

Not sure on that DME, but the I6s need the ISN extracted and written into the CAS. That requires specialized equipment.

Lol.

“We”?

You cant.

(The “stealership” doesn’t have tools to wipe and recode a used DME, they only work on new parts.) people can recode the modules to work, but it isn’t an opinion on the FOxwell or even ISTA.

How did your current DME die? Or is this just some parts shotgunning?

As discussed in the other thread, prolly gonna be a short/damage to a bus line somewhere- did you ‘test lines with a scope’?
