2013 5.0 Engine-any good?

I have 2 E-53's and I'm thinking of buying a 2013 5.0 with 80k.

I was wondering if you guys knew of any known issues with that engine. or any know issues in the model.

Thanks

The E53 4.4 & 4.8 are plagued with higher dollar repair issues.

Are you asking about a BMW with the N63 V8 engine? I'm surprised you haven't received notices from google by the mere fact that you typed 2013 X5 5.0.

Just type BMW N63 engine and see the results. It's infamy & calamity follows the same notoriety as the n62/n62TU engines that proceeded it...except it actually got a recall similar to the old M60 V8 engine.

Buy with caution...make sure your eyes are wide open if buying any BMW with the N62/N62TU/N63 engine...you "may" find one that doesn't have problems...if you do "hold on to it because it is rare".

If you want a V8...you may want to hold out for the N63TU engine...but that would put you into an F15 X5.

As usual Thanks "Q" !!

I don't know anything about the E70....I really don't like the layout of the F-15 and the nav sticking out of the dash and the goofy rear tail lights. From what your saying the F-15 is the way to go.

Yes I want a large V8 X5.

Asking us to regurgitate the results of the same question being asked is not 'research'.

Learn how to search.

And while I should stop now, as a little hint, the BMW 'ccp' or customer care program is a cosmetic fix. People seem to think that their life if great if the CCP was done. Wrong. The CCP covers up an underlying fatal flaw- dilution of engine oil with fuel leading to wear failure. All BMW did was slow down this process and push the issues well into the future. ie guys like you buying now.

So diligently checking records to confirm the CCP is pointless. Never having it done is bad. Having it done is only slightly better

Im sure you know this since you were on youtube....
