2009 X5 3.0Si Fuel Pump Fuse
Sunday night, 100miles from home, cruising along at 60MPH on a flat straight stretch of road towing a light trailer. Abrupt and complete loss of motor power. Coasted to side of road and stopped. Motor cranked normally but would not fire. No fuel smell from exhaust while cranking, no codes on on-board display. Vehicle towed home. Last night connected my fuel pressure gauge. No fuel pressure on key on or cranking. Checked fuses, found No 97 (20A) fuse blown. Fitted new fuse, fired up and idled fuel pressure 68PSI. So - why did the fuse blow?
Anyone with similar experience?, any known issues that might have blown the fuse? |

odd one. (hence the lack of responses...)
Prolly inspect the wiring harness for shorts, issues.... (Point of clarification...F97 or F98??) If a relay is cheap enough, toss a new one in. And see what happens. The classic FP failure is that it stops running. Not blows a fuse .... |
