I'm recording with my phone in the driver's seat. I'm pretty sure it's one of the suspension components, just not sure how to identify the exact part. The squealing noise is only audible driving over rough or bumpy roads. I can also replicate the noise by bouncing the left front wheel area up and down.
If i take the wheel off, how can I replicate the noise to isolate where it's coming from? Any help is appreciated. |

open the hood and look at the top of the shock mount....any gritty, powdery residue from the upper Shock isolation bushing degrading??

I've recently experiance the same only when driving. Despite sounding like rubber it was broken spring. I suggest you check that first.

I'll check out the spring too to see if it's broken. But if the spring is broken, wouldn't that end of the car drop significantly? My front end is the same height as before. When i bounce the driver side wheel area, I can definitely hear the squealing noise coming directly from the top of the strut tower. |

Mine did not drop at all. It was broken at the bottom - very hard to spot untill I jack it up.

Ok thanks. I'll jack it up tonight for a closer inspection.

I don't see any residue, but I can definitely hear the noise coming from the top of the shock mount.
