Just wondering if anyone has a Platinum Grey fully colour coded at all?
Keen to see how it looks. TIA |

He's asking what you mean exactly by 'colour coding.'

Maybe when the whole car is painted the same color? I particularly like when the wheels, tires and window film is the same color....

I was guessing that was what 'coded' meant. It isnt a common term for us yanks.
IMO- and its just my opinion- I think it is a negative. (Hence my joking comment about also painting wheels, tires, glass.) I think it incrfeases the visual 'mass' of the car, and make it a big hulking blob of grey. (or whatever color) The use of black trim allows the designers to reduce visual mass, contour how you the the colors, etc. Like a house all one color without any painted trim. Or a home with landscaping consisting of 'everything grass' instead of swooping planting beds of bushes, etc. Just my 2 cents. You should google then image search- prolly find a dozen. GL! |

The M-Sport comes with the painted trims...the SE does not, so I wrongly figured people would understand what I meant. No big deal. I can see why some people would appreciate the car either way tbh. I prefer all painted as it looks more “finished off” in my eyes, besides polish/wax makes the plastic look terrible if you accidentally go off the panel when cleaning it. I have used Google already, but had no luck as of yet. Just figured this was the next best place to try... |

Cool.
In the eye of the beholder, eh? ... Do keep in mind that 'painting the black bits' is not a simple task. To get a smooth, perfect finish there is a huge amount of prep. Indeed, I dont know if the other model versions use the same substrate/molding. It isnt as easy as buying a spray can of touch up paint and having at it... Im fanatical about my detailing, so wax and whatnot never gets where it shouldnt. And removal is pretty easy too. GL! |
