Steering Wheel Wrapped

Had some good success wrapping the M3 steering wheel on my E46 so I took the plunge with Matilda. The OEM sport steering wheel is ok but adding the wrap added some nice thickness in addition to some flash with the perforated material and M tri-color thread catching the eye. My stitching got better during the project and I'm expecting the sun to help better form the wrap to the steering wheel contours. All in all, I'm happy with my $25 dollar investment and a few hours on a Sunday afternoon.

I did a nearly identical pattern and material for my M5. Look great!

Thx. There's no downside to this simple DIY.

Do you have a link to the kit? Also, did they have different colors for the stitching?

Here you go and yes, you can contact them about the color of stitching. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-PU-Le...72.m2749.l2649

Nice work on the stitching. That is what really scares me about this project with my minimal sewing skills. :-( Question. I see there is a leather option for the wheel wrap. Why did you choose the PU material? It is more durable than the leather. Just curious. Thanks!

Stitching was not difficult whatsoever. And I was under the impression that the PU would wear better than leather. Time will tell I guess.
