rear camera and side top down cameras blank SOLVED- trsvc module was bad

2011 x5 e70... CIC

I have lost all cameras. The display shows blank and no error codes are stored.

I do remember a few weeks ago, sometimes it took a while for the camera feed to come on whether the rear or top down view.

I checked connections at the TRSVC module under the instrument cluster and it looks fine.

ISTA shows approx 80 ma on all 3 cameras in the test.

I'm clueless....

SOLVED- trsvc module was bad

did you check the feed from the module to the CIC? Is there an LVDS cable from the module connecting to the CIC? Since its all cameras, its either the module, the CIC or the interconnects.

Thanks, I will have to look up how to take the cic out and check it.
If you have ista, rheingold, in the cameras diagnostics, there's one that says the power use of the cameras... What do you see there?

Reseated the purple lvds connector and no change. It's odd because even CIC doesn't allow me to click anything but the button to switch between rear and side cams... As if its not letting me go deeper into the camera options (could that be because the cic needs to see a video feed- or is this a control that comes from the TRSVC?)

So the video signal is over k-can?

One other thing, around the same time, I had a low battery from my obd adapter (which the idiotic bmw ibs system did not catch - but it'll bitch about other stuff lol)
Maybe I should reflash the trsvc, cic, and switch modules?

Might try a "hard reset" by disconnecting the + terminal on the battery for a few minutes then reconnect, see if your issues are gone.

That worked for me to solve a few gremlins especially when the battery ran down to "low state".

Did that today... same thing. I tried reflashing the TRSVC module with ista-p and it took that but didnt take the coding (probably due to my DCAN cable, NCS cant read or write codierdaten either before and after this flash)

No, it does output over LVDS. KCAN is just for control.

@95WildTT, how is the X3M treating you?

It's awesome, loving every minute of it!!
Great handling, a blast to drive and just the right size for what we need.
All I can say is the next M3 is going to be awesome (it's based on the X3M).
